Entertainment

The advantage with living history events is it allows members of the public to witness and experience life in the period being demonstrated, to experience the sights, smells and sights of a particular period in time. It'a all brought to life by our costumed interpreters - be that as a cook using authentic recipes and ingredients, knight in armour on horseback or a barber surgeon getting to work on his latest patient.

All of our skilled demonstrators/interpreters have a great deal of knowledge of the person/people/period they are portraying and we insist on using as many authentic items as possible to bring history alive in front of your eyes.

A small selection of some of our costumed characters

  • Benedict - Sheriff and Collector of Taxes for His Majesty the King. Fully armed knight in armour
  • Osric the Orrible - Baron Benedict's Official Bailiff and Bodyguard
  • Brother Hugo - Dominican Black Friar of the mid 14th Century
  • Edward Son of Godfrey & Theobald the Hunter - Crecy Archer circa 1346
  • Edric the Fletcher - From the Peasants Revolt circa 1381
  • Sir Daniel of Colchester - A 14th Century armed Knight
  • Sir George Saint Constance - Knights Templar circa 1155
  • Sir Hereward the Gentle - Knights Hospitaller circa 1160

Along with our costumed characters we are able to provide additional entertainment. This may be a tented field encampment, period traders and characters indulging in assorted skills and pastimes. We also have access to specialist entertainers such as falconers, musicians, knights on horse back... the list goes on and on.

Historical Encampments can be accompanied by a display arena in which archery contests and various types of combat displays using a variety of weapons, armour and fighting techniques are given. We have a campfire on which our meals are cooked during the event, it also serves as a focal point during the night when, weather permitting, we gather around for an enjoyable social end to the day, before retiring to bed.

Other characters/demonstrators can include anything from authentic shoemakers, candle makers, fletchers, falconers, blacksmiths, surgeons, storytellers, friars, knights, archers, and man at arms, clerics, pewter casters, musicians, siege engines, royalty and many, many more!

We offer a wide choice of entertainment with historical flavour; anything from singers and musicians to storytellers and puppeteers, covering many different periods for any event, party, wedding or special occasion you are planning. And if you want to go all-out please consider our special guests.
We have all the necessary paperwork to support our services, including CRB checks, public liability insurance, child protection policy, risk assessments, model release forms. We have a perfect record and want to keep it that way!
